Tucked up on a knoll in a cul-de-sac with winter mountain views is this welcoming woodsy retreat in Sherwood Forest, a 1000-acre mountain development and Audubon community. The heart of this home, offering one-floor living, is the spacious living room with a vaulted beamed ceiling and stone wood-burning fireplace. Imagine family gatherings here, or just cozy up yourself by the fire. French doors lead from the living room to a generous deck that with TLC will provide hours of pleasure enjoying the richness of nature. Beautiful hardwood floors throughout this home complement the attractive woodwork. A center hall leads past a bedroom, bathroom and office to an addition constructed in 2003 with an exceptionally large 20 x 18 primary bedroom, also with pine plank cathedral ceiling. Sunlight streams through the many windows and French doors in this room as well. The spacious primary bathroom includes tiled walls, an oval jetted tub, fiberglass shower, and deep, walk-in custom closets. A new roof in 2025 and a new $40,000 septic system (tank plus drainfield) were installed in 2026, providing peace of mind. With some updating, this home will feed your soul for decades, with its laid-back lifestyle and proximity to outdoor activities. Being sold fully furnished. Sherwood Forest offers 20 miles of scenic hiking trails, five lakes, a junior Olympic outdoor swimming pool, and a 9-hole golf course. The HOA website boasts “every season brings its own special charms – soup suppers in the winter, wildflower walks in the spring, old-fashioned family picnics at the barn during the summer, canoeing on the lakes when autumn colors blaze.” This home is located approximately 5 miles from the entrance to Dupont State Forest with its exceptional hiking, and only 12 miles from downtown Brevard, a well-known mountain town with restaurants, galleries, breweries and the famous Brevard Summer Music festival, enjoying it’s 90th year.
